Life after Birth - Planning for Postpartum

What to Expect, What You’ll Need, and How to Be Supported during your Forth Trimester

The first weeks after welcoming your baby (or babies) can feel intense and overwhelming—but with the right tools and preparation, you can approach this transition with greater ease and confidence. In this live, interactive online session, doulas Claire and Róisín will guide you through what to expect and how to prepare for a smoother, more supported postpartum experience.

We’ll explore key topics, including:

  • Supporting Your Recovery: Gentle strategies for physical healing, emotional wellbeing, and self-care.

  • Feeding Your Baby: Understanding your options and making informed choices that work for your family.

  • Partner Support: Ways your partner can be actively involved and supportive in the early days.

  • Setting Boundaries: How to protect your space, manage visitors, and prioritise your needs.

  • Practical Preparation: What to organise ahead of time to ease the early weeks with your baby.

  • Local Resources & Support: Guidance on connecting with helpful services and professionals in your area.

There will be time for questions and discussion, so you can get personalised answers and hear from others on a similar journey.

This session is hosted live online, with a recording available if you can’t attend in real time.
